Intern Program

SYC’s Camp Intern Program invites young adults into a meaningful season of growth, service, and leadership. Interns play a vital behind-the-scenes role in helping camp thrive while developing spiritually, personally, and as part of a team. With two development streams designed to support different strengths and callings, the program equips interns to grow as Christlike servant leaders who make a real impact on students, leaders, and the camp community.

We are excited to offer young adults aged 18–22 the opportunity to grow in their spiritual maturity and servant leadership through our Camp Intern Program. This role is designed for those who love SYC, believe in its mission, and want to serve behind the scenes to help camp run smoothly. Interns gain experience in spiritual formation, teamwork, and leadership while making a meaningful impact on the lives of students and leaders.

To support interns with different strengths, callings, and growth goals, the program includes two development streams. Both streams share the same heart—forming Christlike servant leaders—but each offers a unique focus that helps interns grow in the ways that fit them best.

We are looking for up to twelve dedicated individuals for SYC who are ready to work hard and grow in their spiritual and leadership journey.

Intern Streams

New for this year, the SYC Intern Program offers young adults a meaningful opportunity to grow in spiritual maturity, teamwork, and servant leadership while helping camp run smoothly behind the scenes. With two development streams the program supports different strengths and callings while forming one unified intern team. Whether serving quietly in the background or stepping into leadership moments, every intern plays a vital role in creating a camp environment where students encounter Jesus and experience authentic community.

Relational Development Stream

This stream is designed for interns who want to deepen their relationship with God and strengthen their ability to connect well with others. The focus is on spiritual formation, character development, and learning to serve faithfully in practical ways. Interns in this stream receive closer mentorship, participate in foundational discipleship rhythms, and primarily support behind‑the‑scenes tasks that help camp flourish. This pathway is ideal for those who desire to grow in confidence, consistency, and relational maturity.

Leadership Development Stream

This stream is for interns who are ready to step into greater responsibility and explore leadership opportunities more directly. The focus is on developing Christlike influence, guiding others, and taking initiative in visible areas of camp life. Interns in this stream may help lead activities, support younger students, or take ownership of specific components of camp. This pathway is ideal for those who feel called to lead, encourage, and serve others through example and action.

Intern Expectations

Interns in both development streams share a common commitment to spiritual growth, teamwork, and servant‑hearted ministry. While each stream emphasizes different aspects of growth and service, all interns are expected to contribute meaningfully to the mission of SYC and to model Christlike character throughout the week.
